Dirtly

Dirtly Connect terms

Draft. This page has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It says what I actually intend, and it is here so you can read it before you agree to it, but it is not a finished legal document.

What Connect does

Dirtly Connect is a matchmaking service. I find somebody who has the material you need, or somebody who needs the material you have. I confirm with both sides that the job is real, and I introduce you to a hauler who can move it.

That is the whole service. I am not a party to the haul, I do not own the material, and I am not your contractor.

The fee, and when it is owed

The fee is a flat finder fee based on the amount of material: $99 for under 100 yards, $249 for 100 to 500 yards, and $499 for over 500 yards.

It is never a percentage of anything, and it does not change with the number of loads or what the haul costs.

It becomes due after the first load lands. Not when you accept a match, and not when a truck is booked. If no dirt moves, you owe nothing.

Fourteen days

If I have not found you a match within 14 days of our first call, you owe nothing and I will tell you so. You are free to go elsewhere at any point before that, and you will owe nothing then either.

The hauler is an independent business

The hauler is not employed by Dirtly, not subcontracted by Dirtly, and not supervised by Dirtly. They quote you directly, you contract them directly, and you pay them directly. Their price, their schedule and their conduct are between you and them.

Dirtly does not own, operate or insure trucks, and is not a party to the haul. I will ask a hauler for proof of insurance before I introduce them, and I will tell you what they gave me, but I am passing on what I was told rather than certifying it.

Loading is between you and the owner

If the owner of the material loads it for you, any fee for that is agreed between the two of you. I will write it on the match sheet so everybody has seen the same number, but I am recording it rather than setting it, and I do not collect it.

The material is as described by the person who has it

What the material actually is comes from the person who posted it. I ask, and I write down what I am told, but I do not test it, grade it or certify it.

Confirm the material yourself before you accept a load. If you need clean fill, say so in writing to the owner and look at it before a truck is loaded. Once it is on your site, moving it again is your cost.

Limits

Connect is an introduction service and my responsibility is limited to making that introduction honestly. I am not liable for the quality of the material, the conduct of the hauler or the owner, delays, damage to a site, or any loss arising from the haul itself. If I have got something wrong in what I passed on, tell me and I will make it right as far as refunding my fee, which is the extent of what I can sensibly stand behind.

Version draft-2026-10-05. The words you accept are stored with your case, so a later edit to this page does not change what you agreed to.
