Delivered dirt commonly runs $150–$600 a dump-truck load ($10–$50 per cubic yard plus delivery), and hauling extra away can run from a few hundred dollars for a short local dump run up to $1,400–$2,300 for full-service removal. On Dirtly, the dirt itself is usually free or cheap: you are only solving the moving. You can size up your project first to see how many yards it takes.

McKinney is really two towns for these purposes. There is the old grid around the square, where the houses are a century old and the dirt work is repair, and there is everything east and west of it that has been built in the last twenty years and is still going.
Both sit on Blackland clay, and Wilson Creek runs down between them. The older streets generate the kind of small, awkward loads that come out of foundation repair and drainage corrections on tight lots. The newer edges generate the big ones, pad and street spoil by the truckload. Somebody with a settling 1920s pier-and-beam near the square and somebody cutting streets out past the loop are both moving dirt, for completely different reasons.
